2006: January 20th: Ceilidh Friends put on a special presentation of their Japan adventure for Yellowknife audiences. Using multimedia to get their stories across, the presentation was well received by an enthusiastic audience. Ceilidh Friends performed in Atlin BC this summer. The Atlin Arts and Music Festival was held July 7-9, 2006. As part of Yellowknife's Solstice Festival, the group was asked to perform on the tour boat - Naocha - organized by Aurora Tours. January: Dawn Lacey and Moira performed a concert together at a Masonic Lodge banquet. This was the first performance for the duo not affiliated with a women's event. It allowed them both to perform material they hadn't performed together before. The concert was a great success, but more importantly, it was a lot of fun. March is always a busy month for Moira. Each year she organizes the International Women's Day concert; a variety show of outstanding women's performing talent. Often she is involved in other Women's Day events as well. She performed a short set during the week of celebrations at another event, but opted not to perform at this year's concert. Summer: Moira performed again at Yellowknife's Storytelling Festival. It was held the weekend of June 2-4. In July, after returning from performances at the Atlin Music Festival, she and Steve Goff performed as wandering minstrels at a medieval wedding on an island in Yellowknife Bay. Steve Goff News: Steve played at a benefit fundraiser in support of BHP Diamond miners on strike in Yellowknife. The concert was on Saturday, June 3rd at the Legion.
